Yes we can?

Short update, I know it's been a really long time...

I'm excited to see what this new presidency will bring us. I know Obama has a lot that he has to try and help fix and although whatever he does really isn't going to change the US in just 4 years, it will help make a dent and hopefully cause success for our future. But, well, we'll just have to see.

All I have to say is this:
In such a hurting economy with so much going downhill, with Obama saying he's going to make all these changes and help those in need, etc...why does his wife need a $400,000 dress for inauguration? And why does his party have to be the most expensive in the history of all presidencies? I feel like this is a bad first step. I thought Obama was going to be DIFFERENT than all the rest. Why can't he wear a nice suit, make a speech to the nation, go out to dinner, and call it a night? Why was the hotel cost for his family vacation in Hawaii $30 MILLION dollars?
Stop WASTING the money we don't have. And even if that's HIS money, he has chosen to run for/be the president of the United States. He is an example to EVERYONE in this country and should live accordingly.

I know everyone is human and makes mistakes, but I know Barak knows the position of influence he is in. He HAS to realize it. There is no excuse for throwing away money on stupid crap like that.

I like to think I have some sort of hope in the person who will run our country, and I believe that Obama can make a positive impact...maybe I'm foolish for thinking such a thing, and for him to start out so superficially and expensive is absurd to me.

This just goes to show you can't really count on anyone. Not even the person you make in charge to run your country. When it comes down to it, they're all the same. More proof: it all starts with ME. And YOU. Don't look to these people to really be any different.
