Day 10-Something you're afraid of

Hmmm...this is difficult!
It's hard to truly be afraid of things when you have God on your side. Not to make things completely somber, but I guess I'm mostly afraid of my parents, siblings, or Sal passing away. I can deal with death and I know God will take care of them all, but I am still going to miss them a lot. I know that's sad, but just being honest.

In terms of a fear more physical...umm...I guess I'm afraid of bugs! hahaha.

You are my God

It's funny to me when I wish for God to use me to perform His will and work. I wish that He would call on me to perform a duty that is life-changing for others. But when I think about Him presenting me with an opportunity, I get scared. I get nervous. I am worried I am ill-equipped. And know what? It's kind of true!

I know God will present me/us with the Holy Spirit and really, it's never ME who does anything. But why would God ever choose me? What wisdom will I have to lend if I am disobedient?

I know I will sin and will make mistakes, but the biggest one of them all would be to try and pull off life on my own. I need to start communicating in ways more than just praying. I need to be consistent. I need to dig deeper into God's word and the life manual God has presented to us! Maybe if I start hearing what God has to say through scripture more, then God will begin to see me as becoming more spiritually fit to perform His duties.

It's like I say I want to be a doctor. I just ignore reading all the text books and skip out on lectures from professors that know what I need to do to be successful in the field. Instead, I just show up at the hospital and say, "where are my patients? where am I supposed to be? what is my job here?" and actually expect to be given answers these requests...when if presented with such, I would have NO CLUE what to do!!!

I want my Bible to be messy and dirty, because that means I have handled it day-in and day-out. I want notes written over every page, phrases highlighted, and sticky notes covered in thoughts and insights and God's personal message to me to be found in each book.

I'm excited :D and I'm not going to be afraid anymore because I know in my heart I am taking a big step and making a stronger commitment to do this for Him and His glory in my heart and on this earth.

I don't want to be caught chasing after this world instead of the Lord. I don't want to be Hosea's Gomer or God's Israel. I do NOT want to cheat on God!!! God is who and what I need, and I will not find fulfillment in anything earthly.

“Rebuke your mother, rebuke her,
for she is not my wife,
and I am not her husband.
Let her remove the adulterous look from her face
and the unfaithfulness from between her breasts.
Otherwise I will strip her naked
and make her as bare as on the day she was born;
I will make her like a desert,
turn her into a parched land,
and slay her with thirst.
I will not show my love to her children,
because they are the children of adultery.
Their mother has been unfaithful
and has conceived them in disgrace.
She said, ‘I will go after my lovers,
who give me my food and my water,
my wool and my linen, my olive oil and my drink.’
Therefore I will block her path with thornbushes;
I will wall her in so that she cannot find her way.
She will chase after her lovers but not catch them;
she will look for them but not find them.
Then she will say,
‘I will go back to my husband as at first,
for then I was better off than now.’
She has not acknowledged that I was the one
who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil,
who lavished on her the silver and gold—
which they used for Baal.
“Therefore I will take away my grain when it ripens,
and my new wine when it is ready.
I will take back my wool and my linen,
intended to cover her naked body.
So now I will expose her lewdness
before the eyes of her lovers;
no one will take her out of my hands.
I will stop all her celebrations:
her yearly festivals, her New Moons,
her Sabbath days—all her appointed festivals.
I will ruin her vines and her fig trees,
which she said were her pay from her lovers;
I will make them a thicket,
and wild animals will devour them.
I will punish her for the days
she burned incense to the Baals;
she decked herself with rings and jewelry,
and went after her lovers,
but me she forgot,”
declares the LORD. -Hosea 2:2-13

I will plant her for myself in the land;
I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’
I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’;
and they will say, ‘You are my God.’” -Hosea 2:23

Day 9-A picture of your friends

Might be missing a person or two...but all of the above I consider my best friends. I love them all so much. <3

Day 7-Favorite movies

I don't really watch too many movies, but if I had to pick favorites, I'd probably say:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Kill Bill 1 and 2
Memento
Donnie Darko

I tend to like movies to be clever, thought-provoking, action-packed, and/or sci-fi.

In need of a swoon.

You know, I'm not one of those girls that expects constant romanticism--I actually have NO anticipation for it.

But just because I have no expectations doesn't mean it wouldn't mean the world to me to be romantically surprised every once in a while.

Showing up at my door with a flower, unannounced.
Planning to "hang out" and when you/I arrive you have a date planned out already.
^^something like that.

Sometimes it's nice to be the one who isn't doing all of the work, for once.

Day 6-A picture of something that makes you happy

I am uploading two pictures...they have similar stories/feelings.

This is Shane's aunt's lakehouse. We go there every year for Shane's birthday in June (I've gone 3 years now) and have gone again in August before school starts, both times for the night or even the weekend.
It reminds me of the first time I really spent quality time with the people I like to call some of my very best friends. The best I've ever had. Even though the lakehouse isn't that far away, it's one of those places that is an escape for me. I feel like I am completely stress free. It's not the lakehouse itself, but it's being further away from life back home, and spending it with my favorite people that make me feel the best. It's drama free, full of love and life. :) When I think of being here, I get flooded with tons of great memories and endless laughter.

These are a few of the longboards my (above) friends and I have. There are so many more of us now that have boards, but this is the first "group shot" of them, haha. :) I LOVE longboarding because it's something I do with my best friends. When we are out, it means it is sunny and nice outside :). It's also good exercise, and so you just feel good and productive.
